Inside Bulgaria's Easter Celebrations: Traditions Passed Through Generations
Today marks the joyous celebration of Easter, one of the most significant holidays in the Orthodox Christian calendar.
A Bulgarian invented a watch capable of translating a word in two seconds with the accuracy of translation being 97 %.
The device can translate without being connected to any network, private bTV station informs.
The whole life of Vladimir Ichevski has been dedicated to the watch, which took him 23 years to invent, costing him his family, property and career.
Ichevski, who is retired now, is an IT specialist by profession and has worked throughout his life on automation.
The idea for the watch was born in the 1990s when he was bored of translating with a dictionary, so he thought on automating the process.
From the moment when the idea was conceived, Ichevski has not left Sofia for more than two days, investing both all his time and resources in the project.
He has sold a Lada car and a small inherited dwelling in order to finance his project.
Today the inventor lives and works in two rooms, which he calls his “bunker”.
First he invented a translating pen, but then he decided to minimise his invention to the size of a watch.
Ichevski has not patented his device yet as there is no funding, but he believes that if the project garners support, there is a potential for it to become of significance for Bulgaria.
